New Digs | First Quarter 2017

I've been slow to bring home records to start the year. I'd like to think I've started to become a bit more selective, but the truth is I've just been too busy to look. I HAVE been clicking 45's off the ol' ebay watch list, so stay tuned as I'm sure I'll be sharing some of them soon. Here's a quick look at what has caught my eye. Some limited edition new releases and a handful of quality used sounds have found a home with me.

Happy hunting!

Temptation Rise - Temptation Rise (Anthron International)

Toe Fat - Toe Fat (Rare Earth, 1970)

Barbara Jean English - Barbara Jean English (Alithia, 1973)

The xx - I See You (Young Turks, 2017) <-- Limited Edition Box Set

New Digs - Mid September 2012

Well, it happened. I finally converted to buying new releases on vinyl. After denying the inevitable, CD's might be officially dead to me... practically negating years of hunting, scouring, trading, and splurging. I still have the majority of my CD collection, but I'm just not sure how they fold into my future routine and buying habits. My last record store visit yielded all new releases, all on vinyl. I picked up the awesome Evans Pyramid Lp from Cultures of Soul, the new xx album, and Wild Nothing's Nocturne. I also landed the coveted 2LP release of Danny Brown's XXX after having to resort resort to eBay to find a copy. It had to happen... especially after none of my local record spots secured any copies of the limited release this past Record Store Day. Danny Brown's raps are so much fun and I can't help but sense, and relate to the fact, that he is an old soul trapped in skinny jeans. Here's to a new day, and new discoveries!

Evans Pyramid - Self-Titled (Cultures of Soul, 2012)

Wild Nothing - Nocturne (Captured Tracks, 2012)

Danny Brown - XXX (Fools Gold, 2012)

The xx - Coexist (Young Turks, 2012)
