The Magnificent Men - "Still Good"
Better Than A Ten Cent Movie (buy here) catches the blue-eyed soul brothers, The Magnificent Men, on the tail end of their short-lived run as a soul-rock outfit. Hailing from Pennsylvania, the band is known as the first white act to headline the Apollo Theater. That's not a shabby footnote to own! This is their last album, and finds the band adding a hard rock slant to their established soul sound. This slight change in pace still honors their reputation as funky white dudes that get down. One of the standout cuts to me is the ripe for loopin' “Still Good”. Actually, it has probably been lifted already, but I'm having a time placing it... Check it out down below.
Also, if you would like more insight into The Magnificent Men, peep this trailer for a movie still in the works about the band that documents their time together. Hopefully it will see the light of day sometime soon!
